Purchasing

The Purchasing Division is responsible for procuring all goods and services for the Jail in accordance with the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA) and Jail purchasing policies. The goal of the Purchasing Division is to procure high quality goods and services at a reasonable cost through vendor competition while maintaining transparency.  The Purchasing Division is responsible for:

• • • Managing the solicitation process in accordance with VPPA requirements
    • Approving all contracts, service agreements and requisitions
    • Continuous monitoring of all contracts to ensure deadlines are met
    • Assisting divisions with preparing specifications and monitoring vendor performance
    • Developing and reviewing purchasing policies and manuals to ensure compliance

Solicitations

Meherrin River Regional Jail invites interested vendors to register on the Virginia state procurement website eVA – Virginia’s eProcurement Marketplace. Once registered, interested vendors will receive notifications of all ITBs and RFPs that are issued by the Jail.
